For general information, BROOKS AUTOMATION POLYCOLD SYSTEMS manufactures low temperature refrigeration systems, which provide temperatures from -40oC to below
-155oC. We manufacture Fast Cycle Water Vapor Cryopumps, Cryocoolers, Gas Chillers and Detector Coolers.

• POLYCOLD FAST CYCLE WATER VAPOR CRYOPUMPS (PFC) significantly improve the performance of vacuum furnaces and vacuum coating systems. Our units rapidly cool and defrost in-chamber cryocoils, dramatically reducing pumpdown time and increasing product throughput by trapping water vapor directly in the chamber. POLYCOLD PFCs are the most cost-effective pumping upgrade that can be added to any diffusion-pumped, turbo-pumped or helium cryo-pumped system. Our systems can deliver cooling capacity as high as 3600 watts and water vapor pumping speeds in excess of 200.000 liters/sec. POLYCOLD has developed hundreds of cryocoil designs to fit numerous vacuum chamber configurations. Custom coils can also be designed to fit the available space in almost any system if necessary.

 In addition to our PFC units, we also manufacture the following related products:

• MODEL P CYROCOOLER units completely replace liquid nitrogen in vacuum systems. They provide the cooling necessary to prevent backstreaming from diffusion pumps, with sufficiently cold temperatures to ensure effective cryogenic pumping of water vapor.

• POLYCOLD GAS CHILLER units come in both open-loop (PGC) and closed-loop (PGCL) configurations. PGC units are used primarily in environmental test chambers where electronic components are exposed to extreme temperature variations for aircraft and military applications. PGCL units are used primarily for heat removal applications in the manufacture of semiconductor circuitry and magnetic memory disks for computer hard drives.

• POLYCOLD COMPACT COOLER (PCC) units have become a standard replacement for LN2 in the cooling of a wide spectrum of high-tech instrumentation probes.

• POLYCOLD AQUATRAP units provide a cost-effective way to significantly increase the water vapor pumping speed of ultra-high vacuum turbo pumps.
